For the period of April 1-June 30, there were 72 single family homes sold in Canton, Smith writes. The lowest priced home sold for $195,000, and the highest priced home sold for $892,500.00. Are you, as a Canton resident, surprised by these numbers?

3. Library Updates

The  will be closed on Saturdays through September.

The Friends of the Canton Public Library's 22nd Annual Book Sale is coming Saturday, Sept. 8, and will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will feature a $5-per-bag "power hour" from 2-3 p.m. Volunteers will be available on Thursdays in August to accept donations of gently-used books; donations may be brought to the Sherman Street lot receiving entrance between 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

4. COA Day Trip to East Dennis 

The Canton Council on Aging is taking reservations now for their upcoming day trip to East Dennis on Aug. 16. It's a 90 minute cruise with wonderful views from the decks of the new Lobster Roll Cruise Ship! $65 per person. Lunch and site seeing. 

5. Travel Back in Time

On this day in 1988, temperatures hit a high of 88 degrees in New York City (in other words, it was 88 degrees on 8/8/88).
