Why Go: American Legion Post #24 has pizza for take out or eat in on Thursday and Friday evenings from 5-10 p.m.

Where/When: , Canton; Friday, Aug. 24: 6 p.m.
Why Go: Temple Beth Abraham will hold a Sunset Shabbat from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 24 at Pequitside Farm in Canton. At 6 p.m., there will be a BBQ and summer games until 7:15 p.m., when the group will usher in Shabbat. The rabbi will lead the group in song and prayer. There will be dancing and singing, and kids will play musical instruments.

Why Go: What started as a pre-teen jamming on a cardboard guitar cut-out & lipsyncing to The Kinks and Def Leppard for family and friends has evolved to become some of the most heart-felt and honest songwriting/performing in recent decades. Damian Israel Shiner grew from solo to shinerjones, and now fronts a flexible project involving a rotating crew of "displayers".
