Family Fun at Ward's Berry Farm

The 4H club at Ward's Berry Farm in neighboring Sharon has a flock of new animals to pet and visit.

Every spring, the Sunny Rock 4H club gets a whole lot busier.

Based at , Sunny Rock 4H maintains a fully functioning barn. The club is divided into smaller categories, with specialty clubs that focus on sheep, horses, rabbits, chicken and waterfowl and goats.

This week was exceptionally busy because four of the ewes, or mother sheep, had babies. There are now over 16 babies frolicking in the Sunny Rock Sheep pen, munching on hay and clamoring for their mothers' attention. Kids can feed these friendly critters at the barn. Grain bags are available for sale in the barn at $1 per bag, and visitors can feed the goats and sheep with the same grain.

The rare Nubian goats are proud parents to two babies this month. Cowboy, the father, is quite a sight to see and probably the biggest goat you have ever seen.

The rabbit club is also preparing to welcome four litters of baby rabbits in the coming weeks. However, the rabbit hutch is private and no visitors can enter. The rabbits can be seen easily through the plexiglass window that was installed before this snowy winter.

When visiting the Sunny Rock 4 H club, remember that the animals cannot be fed anything other than the grain for sale. No plants, pine cones or food from home can be given.

The barn is open every day until 6:00 p.m.Β  A great family outing, and with the adorable baby lambs and goats playing in the pens, it is likely to become a place your family will want to visit again and again.
