1.  Thomas Jefferson was born on this day in 1743. He was the third President of the United States, the main writer of the Declaration of Independence, a governor, a minister to France, the first U.S. Secretary of State, and keeper of an enormous collection of books now held at the Library of Congress.

2. Join the Friends of the tonight from 6:30pm to 8pm in the library Community Room to learn about new books and book club recommendations. Refreshments.

3. The Junior Prom is tonight, but not in a decorated gymnasium or lunchroom or town hall auditorium! Am I showing my age? Students will dance the night away at the Lake View Pavilion in Foxborough. Yet, they must arrive between 7pm and 7:30 at the Lake View Pavillion. Be sure to upload pictures of your prom to Canton.Patch.com or email them to margaret.carroll-bergman.com .
