Get Out: A Canton Patch Weekend Guide for February 25-27

Looking for something to do this weekend?

Our "Get Out" column is now replacing the Saturday "Weekend Happenings Around Town" column to allow you to get a head start on making those weekend plans. Let us know what you think and be sure to add your own weekend happenings to our events calendar.

The weekend will be here before you know it and there are lots of activities out there just waiting to be discovered. Whether we are in for sun or snow, there is sure to be something fun to do around Canton.

Night of Acoustics  On Friday, February 25 at 5:30 p.m., presents a Night of Acoustics at the Old Colony Y in Stoughton.  "The Quintessential Street Performer" John Gerald will be the featured artist.  Rebecca Wolff of Canton and Sam Bayer provide the opening acts.

Student Session with John Kearney & Friends   Head to the friendly pub in the on Friday at 7:00pm to play some tunes. Stay around to join in a fun session with Bill Black and weekly guests.

Love Letters – A Dessert Theatre   This romantic play follows Andy and Melissa’s correspondence throughout their life-long relationship; from childhood to boarding school, college, war and many a long line of surprising developments. (Rumor has it that Board of Selectmen Chair will be in the play.) This takes place at the United Church of Christ Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00pm.  Tickets are $15 or $100 for a table of 8. Public Skating  Enjoy some family time on the ice. The Canton Recreation Department holds every Sunday from 2:30 to 4:15 p.m. at the Metropolis Skating Rink.  Admission is $2 for children and $3 for adults.

Lion’s Club Luncheon  The host a Lion's Club Luncheon on Saturday at 12:00pm. There is a $5 suggested donation.  For details or to reserve your spot, please call 781-828-1323.
