Some Valentine's Day activities for your little ones.
This weekly Wednesday column is set up to give you an assortment of things-to-do for families and we appreciate your feedback on these suggestions. If you would like to add your own events, just enter them into our Patch calendar of events or place them in the comments box.
It is February and many of us are looking for a cure for the winter doldrums; here are five kid-friendly activities to get you out of the house and into the fresh air. Have fun!
Valentine’s Day Party is hosting a party in honor of Valentine’s Day on Thursday, February 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. You will be able to create your own holiday cards, play games and decorate festive cookies. Please RSVP to 781-821-9374 or vtscanton@verizon.net

New Mom’s Support Group Parents and babies (birth to 1-year-old) are welcome to this free, weekly group. No registration is required. This event takes place at the Old Colony YMCA, 445 Central Street, in Stoughton, on Thursdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Adopt an Animal Shelter This is a great way to teach children about awareness of other living things and you would be doing an act of kindness as well. Do you have a brand of pet food or treat that your pet refuses to eat or toys your pet does not play with? would be glad to have the donation of the food (please be sure the “Use By” date has not expired) and toys, and they also need clean towels and shopping bags. (To use for cleaning up after the animals.)

Tot Time Sing and Learn Marsha Wright of the leads this free play group for tots ages 9-months to three-years-old. Parents will be given a packet of useful information on how to encourage little ones to learn at home. Space is limited, so please register for this program at the Junior Room desk. This group meets today, Wednesday, February 9, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
Teddy Bear Tea Party Children of all ages are welcome to the Visual Arts Center as they celebrate Valentine’s Day on February 13, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Bring a stuffed friend or doll and enjoy scrumptious treats while your make a Valentine’s gift for someone special. Registration is required.
