Mother to Face Son's Killer on Oct. 30

Canton native Rod Matthews was convicted of killing fellow-student Shaun Ouillette in the mid 1980s. Matthews will face the state parole board on Oct. 30.

Canton resident Jeanne Quinn is preparing to revisit a haunting past as she faces a grief she's been dealing with for nearly thirty years.

Quinn's son, Shaun Ouillette, died nearly 26 years ago after he was hit with a baseball bat by then 14-year-old Rod Matthews, a fellow student at Canton High School. The incident took place in November 1986, according to WHDH.com. Matthews was later tried as an adult and eventually convicted of second degree murder with a sentence of life in prison.

Matthews, who was previously denied parole, will face the state parole board again on Oct. 30
