New Water Conservation Program Kicks Off in the Town of Canton

Canton teams up with Neponset River Watershed Association.

Featured Announcement:

The Town of Canton Water & Sewer Department has partnered with the Neponset River Watershed Association to help facilitate a grant received from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection for a one-year . The program includes leak detection surveys and repair; residential rebates for the purchase of qualifying water efficient toilets, toilet retrofit kits, and clothes washers; development of a water conservation curriculum within the Canton schools; and public outreach.

One of the highlights of the program is the rebate program, which is intended to encourage residents to upgrade their older, water consuming toilets & clothes washers, to more water efficient appliances. All rebates are for residential water customers with active, non-delinquent accounts, and will be available for purchases made after July 25, 2011.  All rebates will be applied as a credit on Canton residential water bills.

  • $75 for a water-efficient clothes washer with a water factor of 4.5 or less.
  • $10 for a dual flush toilet retrofit kit.

More information on rebates can be found on the town website or by calling Karen Welch at the Water & Sewer Dept at 781-821-5017.  All rebates have terms & conditions. Residents should call before they purchase to make sure that they qualify.
