NSTAR Update: 384 Canton Customers Still Without Power After October Storm

Canton is expected to get power restored by Wednesday evening.

This week is a waiting game for the Canton residents stuck without electricity due to . As of this morning, 384 customers are still waiting for NSTAR to restore the power. The expected time of restoration is the evening of Wednesday, November 2.

Currently, NSTAR has 34,000 customers without power and most of those are customers in the Framingham, Walpole and Waltham areas, according to NSTAR.

Several residents that were hit by week-long power outages thanks to were hit again in this pre-Halloween storm. That included Greenwood Road, Pine Street, Pleasant Street and Autumn Circle. Many had been without power from Saturday through Monday, and some are without it today.

NSTAR said this storm posed an extra problem–the heavy, snow-laden leaves.

"All of NSTAR’s 3,000 employees, along with nearly 600 additional field crews, are fully engaged in the restoration effort and will work around the clock until all customers are restored," the company stated on its residential website. "Heavy wet snow and strong winds, combined with a full fall tree canopy, combined to take down wires and cause widespread power outages."

Currently, there are no emergency shelters set up in Canton. Although, the and the are both free spots that are open and heated.
