What Would You Ban in Canton?

A number of communities have deep-sixed some interesting items and activities over the past year, but should Canton join the banning bandwagon?

Concord’s so-called bottle ban became a bylaw earlier this week, Brookline recently banned plastic bags and foam cups, and Arlington’s Town Meeting this fall upheld a seasonal leaf blower ban.

Meanwhile, home-cooked foods have been forced out of many schools, an ostensible attempt to protect against allergies and childhood obesity.

Canton hasn’t hopped on this banning bandwagon, but should it?

Is there an activity or item you would want to see banned out of environmental, health or quality-of-life concerns? Let us know in the comments section below.

I would ban those souped up cars that make so much gawd-awful noise as they accelerate. They are particularly bad on the main drags like Pleasant Street and they go revving up and down the street at all hours of the day and night. Traffic noise is one thing but isn't there a noise level that is unacceptable?
