Blues at the Beach with B.B. King and guests
For
more than half a century, Riley B. King – better known as B.B. King – has
defined the blues for a worldwide audience. Since he started recording in the
1940s, he has released over fifty albums, many of them classic, and featuring
hits like “The
Thrill Is Gone,” “Rock Me Baby,” “Baby I Love You” and “Lucille.” "The
King of Blues" has been bestowed fifteen Grammy Awards by his peers,
including the Grammy "Lifetime Achievement Award" and has been
inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame. Joining King for Blues at the Beach will be
virtuoso pedal steel guitarist Robert Randolph and his long time accompanists,
The Family Band. Robert Randolph and The
Family Band continue to tour in support of their 2013 release Lickety
Split, an album that showcases the unique chemistry of the Family Band—comprised of the guitarist's actual
family members. Also on bill is two-time
GRAMMY® nominee Shemekia Copeland.
