Memorial Dedication in Canton for former Pastor James Findlay

Rev. Findlay’s Family to Attend Memorial Dedication in Canton

Many people in the greater Canton area will remember The Reverend James S. Findlay, pastor of United Church of Christ in Canton from 1983 to 1995.  Rev. Findlay, who had retired and returned to his native country of England, died on April 17, 2013.
Upon his passing, to honor this well-loved minister who faithfully served the UCC and Canton community, an engraved granite bench in his memory is to be installed on the church grounds. If you wish to contribute to this memorial, gifts marked “Rev. Findlay Memorial” may be sent to the church office at 1541 Washington Street, Canton, MA 02021. Please include your return address to receive an acknowledgement of your contribution for tax purposes.
Members of the Findlay family will be visiting the church on Sunday, Sept 15th at the10am worship service. All are invited to attend.   There will be a dedication of the memorial bench immediately following the service.
Rev. Jim had written a book of poems, one of which we’d like to share.

just moments.

We can keep them in memory

file them in history

but moments are all that we have.

So inhabit this moment

dwell in it in love

cherish the gift

for it passes so swiftly

and moments are all that we have.
