Vernal Pool Mysteries

Vernal pools are home to frogs, salamanders and
even fairy shrimp. Find out about these incredible, temporary bodies of water
and visit one of the Blue Hills vernal pools to discover who lives there, and
why. This program begins in the Museum’s auditorium where participants will
look at the biology of these pools, and then go on a short guided hike to a
vernal pool in the Blue Hills. A Trailside naturalist will help you locate and
identify the living things found in the pool. Please wear sturdy walking
shoes.  Registration is required. Suitable for adults and children ages 6
and up.  MAS members $5, non-members $7. For
more information or to register please call (617) 333-0690 ex.226 or visit our
website at
www.massaudubon.org/bluehills.
