CrossFit HomeBase Athlete of the Month: Jenn Lane

CrossFit HomeBase would like to recognize Jenn Lane as the Athlete of the Month.

Members at CrossFit HomeBase are always looking to improve, whether it's physically, mentally or spiritually.

Jenn Lane has been with me since Day 1 of CFHB and immediately left a lasting impression, her drive and commitment has been unmatched. I could always count on her to put in as much effort as she could day in and day out.

It's always a thrill for me to see people surpass their own expectations and do things they never thought possible. Jenn came in with goals and a time line, and won't be satisfied until they are met. She has been an inspiration for me and many others here at CFHB. Jenn is the foundation of the CrossFit HomeBase community; I look forward to watching her achieve future goals, grow as a person and share her experiences with others. CrossFit is not for everyone, but if you're willing to step out of your comfort zone, amazing things can happen.

I started coming to CFHB the first day that it opened in June.

What is your Favorite WOD (Workout of the Day)?

My favorite WOD is any partner workout. I love attacking a workout that looks impossible but that you can't give up on because you have a partner counting on you.

What were you doing before CF?

I would run everyday with very little results.

How did you hear about CFHB?

My girlfriend has been going to CF at Reebok for over a year now and kept telling me I had to try it out.

How was your first workout?

The first workout was tough. I had to lie on the living room floor for an hour after I got home. I wasn't sure if I could go back the next day because I couldn't move. But I did!

How has your performance changed?

I have gotten stronger and faster absolutely. This is the best shape I have been in, in at least 10 years. My energy level has also gone up a great deal.

What advice would you give to someone new to CF?

I spent a good 6 months thinking about trying CF but was afraid that I couldn't do it. You will be sore, you will work harder then you have but you will surprise yourself that you can do some amazing things.
