Best Reads: Popular books at The Canton Library

Time to start sizing up the summer reading.

The following is a list of books that are popular at the Canton Public Library. The descriptions are from the Old Colony site.

1. The Help by Kathryn Stockett - 22-year-old Skeeter has just returned home after graduating from Ole Miss. She may have a degree, but it is 1962, Mississippi, and her mother will not be happy till Skeeter has a ring on her finger. The "Help" is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don't.

2. Sing You Home by Jodi Picoult - Every life has a soundtrack. All you have to do is listen. Music has set the tone for most of Zoe Baxter's life. There's the melody that reminds her of the summer she spent rubbing baby oil on her stomach in pursuit of the perfect tan. It's about people wanting to do the right thing for the greater good, even as they work to fulfill their own personal desires and dreams.

3. I'll Walk Alone by Mary Higgins Clark - Clark's 30th and most spine-chilling of her long career as America's most beloved author of suspense fiction is about the newest and most up to date of crimes: identity theft.

4. Don't Blink by James Patterson - The good New York's Lombardo's Steak House is famous for three reasons the menu, the clientele, and now, the gruesome murder of an infamous mob lawyer.
