Temple Beth Abraham Honors Canton Residents for their Commitment and Contributions to Synagogue

The Canton temple honored two members.

honors two temple members for their commitment and contributions to the synagogue. Dan Levenson of Canton has won the annual Hatan B’reishit Award at Temple Beth Abraham in Canton. The award is given to a member of the congregation who has shown great spiritual growth during the past year.

This growth can come in the form of increased ritual observance, energetic participation in Temple life and/or a general increase in Jewish learning. Dan had been an occasional Shabbat service goer for years, but two years ago began accompanying the synagogue's musical group, "Musaf Daveners" as the resident flutist. Since then he has been a regular at Temple Beth Abraham, lighting up our service with magical sounds of his flute. But Dan did not stop at that. Regularly, Dan attends Adult Education programs and has added immeasurably to the Temple Beth Abraham family.

Cheryl Hiltz of Canton has won the Kallat Torah Award at Temple Beth Abraham. This award is given to a person who has devoted himself or herself to the TBA community for an extended period of time. Cheryl has volunteered for virtually every position in the synagogue include Youth Chair, floor worker on the High Holidays and Bar/ Bat Mitzvah’s, Function Coordinator, Finance Chair, Vice President, and President. She has also helped out on special committees, worked on the synagogue's By-Laws, volunteered at the annual Road Race and helped in the kitchen for holiday dinners or special Kiddush’s. Temple Beth Abraham recognizes and thanks Dan Levenson and Cheryl Hiltz as they continue to actively contribute to making our community the best that it can be.
