DO:

·         Do use makeup remover. Most cleansers do not cut through foundation, eye makeup, or mascara. To completely cleanse your skin, you need to remove your makeup first.

·         Do use a clean face cloth and towel to wash and dry your skin. Bacteria that builds up on used cloths and towels contribute to break outs.

·         Do use corrective serums and creams at night to give the products enough time to penetrate your skin.

·         Do work with an esthetician to find the right products for your skin type and specific concerns. A good product line can go a long way towards looking your best.

DON’T

·         Don’t go to bed without washing your face. It is important to cleanse your skin of all the bacteria, dirt, and oil that has built up on your face all day.

·         Don’t use steaming hot water. Water that is too hot will damage the small capillaries in your skin and can cause dehydration. Use tepid or lukewarm water instead.

·         Don’t pick at your skin. Blackheads and blemishes should be dealt with only by professionals. You will risk further breakouts and even scarring if you try to pick or pop unwanted blemishes.

·         Don’t forget to wash along your jaw line, hairline, neck, and upper chest. These areas should all be cleansed.

ALWAYS

·         Wear sunscreen every day. Even if the weather is cloudy or if you are only going to be outdoors for short periods of time, you are exposed to the damaging rays of the sun. Don’t forget to put sunscreen on your hands if you drive every day.
