Playing professional golf for 20 years on the LPGA and Futures Tours, Michelle Bell was living her dream. The 1998 Player of the Year on the Futures Tour, Bell was all set to make her mark on the LPGA TOUR when some nagging health problems eventually slowed her progress on the links. Bell, who competed in nine U.S. Women’s Open Championships was the Massachusetts School Girls Champion while at Melrose High School, where incidentally, she also resides in that school’s Hall of Fame. “Massachusetts golf is where it all started for me and where I feel I belong and Blue Hill Country Club is just another extension of that warmth and love that comes back to me ten-fold,” said Bell.

Bell, a 1985 graduate of the University of Arizona and, after playing four years for the Wildcats and earning a spot in the U of A Hall of Fame, began her rookie year on the LPGA in 1992. Back and forth between both ladies tours, Bell put it all together in 1998, capturing the Futures Tour’s highest honor. In all, Bell played nine years on the LPGA Tour and retired from the game in 2004. “I love the game of golf and the next best avenue for me to pursue was teaching and Blue Hill provided me with a wonderful outlet for me to help those who want to make themselves better players,” added Bell. “I grew up on the north shore of Massachusetts and I simply love the Boston area. Everyone at Blue Hill Country Club has been wonderful to me, especially the membership and I treasure the time I spend there.”
