Canton Obituary: Freida Byda Williams, 89

Freida Byda Williams, of Canton, formerly of Hyde Park, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 9. She was 89 years old.

Born and raised in Boston, Freida worked for many years in the Accounts Receivable department at Gold Seal Rubber Co. in Readville.

Freida was the dear and devoted wife of the late Joseph J. Williams. Loving mother of John Williams and his wife Janice of Canton. Loving grandmother “Sitto” of Kristin, Jacqueline and Stephanie. Dear sister of Margaret Moses of Dedham, Jeannette Byda of Norwood, John Byda of Dover, Frederic Byda of Florida, Christine Byda of Florida and the late Elias Byda. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Freida's Funeral Service will be held Saturday, Jan. 12 at 10 a.m. at the Annunciation Melkite Cathedral, 7 VFW Parkway, West Roxbury.

Visiting hours Friday 4-8 p.m. at the Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home 8 Spring St. (at the corner of Centre St.) in West Roxbury. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Freida’s memory may be made to the Cathedral.

Interment will conclude services at Mt. Benedict Cemetery.
