Canton Obituary: Gerardo H. LoPilato, 71

Funeral services were held for the long-time Canton resident earlier this month.

Gerardo H. LoPilato, 71, of Canton, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born and raised in Mirabella, Italy, LoPilato came to the United States at the age of 26. He owned and operated Gerard’s Foreign Car Service in Roslindale for many years before retiring in 2002.

LoPilato has lived in Canton for the last 41 years. Beloved husband of Louise R. (Avellino). Father of Christopher LoPilato of Quincy, Maria DiLetizia, Rosie DiLetizia, Sylvia Ruscito and Alfredo LoPilato all of Canton and Marc LoPilato of Walpole. Brother of Rosalba LoPilato, Alberto LoPilato and Liliana Capone all of Italy. Also survived by nine grandchildren.

Visiting hours were held at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home in Canton on Friday, Nov. 1, with a funeral mass taking place at St. Gerard Majella Church on Saturday, Nov. 2. Burial took place in Canton Corner Cemetery.
