Canton

Alleged shoplifter back in court in January

Jamilah A. Smith, 31, of 1 Windsor Woods Lane, Apt. 1205, Canton, had charges of shoplifting by price tag tampering and receiving stolen property under $250 continued to January 17, 2012 for a hearing in Stoughton District Court. The charges stem from a Sept. 24, 2010 incident in Stoughton at 12:40 p.m. when police responded to a report of a shoplifter at Advance Auto Parts on Washington Street. Police allege Smith shoplifted a socket wrench set and car mats. Smith is also due back in court January 17, 2012 to face a separate charge of third-offense shoplifting by concealing merchandise. The charge stems from a September 11, 2010 incident at Advance Auto Parts in Stoughton. In that incident, Smith is accused of stealing pliers and a socket set, according to the police incident report.

Case of passing false prescription to face trial by judge in February

Suzanne Bisbee, 52, of 444 Neponset St., Canton, had a charge of uttering a false prescription continued to Feb. 15 for a bench trial in Stoughton District Court. The charge stems from a July 5 incident at Rite Aid in Canton where Bisbee allegedly presented a false prescription to obtain Klonopin tablets.

Canton man fails to appear in court on charge over bicycle dispute

John Taylor Jr., 59, of 16 Revere St., Apt. 1, Canton, had a default warrant issued for his arrest after he failed to appear in Stoughton District Court on a charge of threatening to commit a crime. The charge stems from a May 24, 2010 incident in Canton. Police allege Taylor threatened another person over a dispute involving a bicycle the two of them share. Quincy woman charged with receiving stolen property fails to appear in court

Tracie L. Williams, 39, of 46 Charlesmont Ave., Quincy, had a judge issue a default warrant for her arrest after she failed to appear in Stoughton District Court on a charge of receiving stolen property over $250. The charge stems from a Feb. 17, 2010 incident in Canton involving an alleged burglary at a residence on Elm Street. The victim reported jewelry was stolen.

Braintree

Mattapan woman faces charge of identity fraud

Jasmine Brown, 22, of 74 Woodbole Ave., Mattapan, was arraigned in Quincy District Court on charges of identity fraud and two counts of attempting to commit a crime. The case was continued to February 9, 2012.The charges stem from a September 27, 2011 incident at InTouch, 250 Granite St., Braintree. Police allege Brown used fraudulent identifaction to purchase four cell phones and obtain credit cards from area retail stores.

Quincy woman charged with stealing credit card

Taliesha Williams, 30, of 50 Phipps Street, Apt. B, Quincy, was issued a default warrant for her arrest after she failed to appear for an arraignment in Quincy District Court on charges of larceny over $250, two counts of forgery of a document, and two counts of uttering false writing. The charges stem from a November 11, 2011 incident at 2:40 p.m. in Braintree when police responded to New Age Computer, 68 Hancock St., for a report of a stolen credit card. Police allege Williams used the credit card to purchase $1,062 worth of merchandise at Best Buy, $10 at a gas station, and $637 at Staples.

Drunk-driving case to face jury trial in February

Sean M. Lazaron, 25, of 39 Abington Ave., Holbrook, had charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and failure to stop/yield continued to February 6, 2012 for a jury trial in Quincy District Court. The charges stem from a June 5, 2011 incident in Braintree at 3:37 a.m. when police encountered a vehicle stopped in the middle of Washington Street with the engine running and headlights on. Lazaron's eyes were closed and his head was dropped forward, resting on the seatbelt, police said in the incident report. Based on his appearance and behavior, police concluded Lazaron was intoxicated and arrested him. He refused a chemical breath test.


Milton

Drunken-driving case moves to jury trial in February

Kerri J. Callahan, 49, of 37 Pilgrim Road, Milton, had a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol continued to Feb. 21 for a jury trial in Quincy District Court. The charge stems from a Nov. 11, 2010 incident in Quincy at 5:32 p.m. when police responded to a report of a two-car accident on Arlington Street. Police allege Callahan was intoxicated when she drove her 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee into a legally parked 2009 Toyota. The vehicle was unoccupied, police said in the incident report. Callahan refused field sobriety tests and was arrested on suspicion of being intoxicated.

Milton man allegedly used racial slurs in motor vehicle vandalism

Ronald O'Connor, 21, of 137 Thatcher St., Milton, had a default warrant for his arrest issued by a judge after he failed to appear for a jury trial on charges of malicious damage of a motor vehicle and a civil rights violation. The charges stem from a Sept. 19, 2010 incident in Milton. The victim alleges O'Connor and several other males threw beer bottles at the victim's car, breaking a vehicle tail light, and used racial slurs during a traffic dispute. The victim obtained the license plate number of the other vehicle and contacted police, who investigated and charged O'Connor in connection with the incident, according to the police incident report.
