Canton Patch's Norfolk County Court Roundup: February 12 Edition

The following information came from various courts in Norfolk County. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction unless otherwise stated.

Canton

OUI case continued for court motion in March

John Pontuso, 28, of 44 Ellis Ave., Norwood, had a charge of drunken driving continued to March 21 for a hearing in Stoughton District Court. The charge stems from an Aug. 19, 2011 incident at 11:20 p.m. when state police stopped Pontuso's vehicle during a field sobriety checkpoint on Neponset Street in Canton.

Police sent Pontuso to a "pit area" for further screening and arrested him after field sobriety tests on suspicion of being drunk. His blood-alcohol content was .12 based on a chemical breath test, police said in the incident report. The legal limit for blood alcohol content is .08.

Brockton man arraigned on drug charges
 
Joshue Harris, 32, of 111 Kathleen Road, Brockton, was arraigned on charges of possession of a Class E substance. The case was continued to March 27 for a pretrial hearing. The charge stems from an Oct. 13, 2011 incident on Route 138 in Canton when state police stopped Harris in a SUV and found a glass pipe inside the vehicle, according to the police incident report. Police also found a pack of cigarettes containing four yellow/orange pills and a clear plastic bottle containing eight blue pills.

Canton woman charge with trespassing

Kathryn M. Shores, 18, of 47 Will Drive, Canton, was arraigned on a charge of trespassing in Stoughton District Court. The case was continued to March 27 for a pretrial hearing. The charge stems from a Jan. 30 incident in Canton at 9:15 p.m. when police responded to a report of an unwanted party with a no-trespassing restriction at a Packard Road residence.

Case of alleged repeat unlicensed driver to be heard March 5

Richard Frazier, 43, of 90 Packard St, Avon, had a charge of driving after license suspension, a subsequent offense, continued to March 5 for a hearing in Stoughton District Court. The charge stems from a Feb. 1, 2011 incident in Canton at 6:55 p.m. when police stopped Frazier's car on Dedham Street after it had allegedly crossed the solid double lines.

Canton man charged with passing false prescription

Joseph R. Bisbee, 30, of 444 Neponset St., Canton, was arraigned on a charge of uttering a false prescription in Stoughton District Court. The case was continued to March 13 for a pretrial hearing.

The charge stems from an Oct. 12, 2011 incident in Canton where Bisbee allegedly passed a false prescription at Walgreen's on Washington Street. Dedham police notified Canton authorities they were investigating Bisbee after he allegedly passed a false prescription for 90 Percodone tablets, 15 mg each, at a CVS store in Dedham.

Braintree

Marshfield man dodges arraignment on traffic charges

Keith F. Gallant, 39, of 12 Valentine Road, Marshfield, failed to appear for an arraignment in Quincy District Court on charges of driving after license suspension, a motor vehicle breakdown lane violation, and failure to wear a seatbelt. A judge issued an arrest warrant for the default. The charges stem from an Aug. 31, 2011 incident in on Route 92N in Braintree where police stopped
Gallant's vehicle and charged him with the offenses.

Man faces charge of restraining order violation

Jeffrey E. Regan, 25, of 614 Pond St., Apt. 1-418, Braintree, had a charge of violating a harassment prevention order continued to April 10 for a hearing in Quincy District Court.

The charge stems from a Dec. 6, 2011 incident at 5:10 p.m. in Braintree when police responded to a report of a possible restraining order violation at 370 Shaw St. Police said Regan might have been in violation  because he sent a message to a friend to a woman who had taken out the harassment order.

Assault and battery case continued for hearing in March

Henry F. Laun Jr., 45, of 82 Franklin St., Apt. 2, Braintree, had a charge of assault and battery continued to March 30 for a pretrial hearing in Quincy District Court. The charge stems from a Dec. 17, 2011 incident a 12:28 a.m. in Braintree when police allege that Laun hit his brother after demanding money for rent.

Case of larceny moves to hearing in April

Zachary M. Waters, 28, of 51 Ivy Road, Weymouth, had a charge of larceny over $250 by single scheme continued to April 13 for a restitution hearing in Quincy District Court. The charge stems from an Oct. 22, 2011 incident in Braintree. Police conducting an investigation alleged that Waters used a stolen credit card to make multiple unauthorized purchases at area stores.

Convicted shoplifter told to stay away from South Shore Plaza

Moneika M. Graham, 26, of 131 Homestead St., Apt. 9, Roxbury, was found guilty in Quincy District Court of larceny over $250. A judge sentenced Graham to probation until Dec. 20 and ordered her to stay away from the South Shore Plaza.

The charge stems from a Nov. 20, 2011 incident at 2:45 p.m. when police responded to a report of a shoplifter at the Baby Gap store. Loss prevention officers told police they observed Graham put nine items in her purse and then walk out of the store without paying for them. Police said Graham also had nine outstanding arrest warrants.

Milton

Traffic charges against Mattapan woman dismissed

Charline A. Francis, 25, of 49 Favre St., Apt. 1, Mattapan, had charges of driving an uninsured vehicle dismissed in Quincy District Court upon payment of $200 in court costs. A judge dismissed a charge of driving with a suspended registration and found Francis not responsible for not having an inspection sticker. The charges stem from an Aug. 16, 2011 incident in Milton when police stopped
Francis on Blue Hill Avenue because her vehicle did not have an inspection sticker.

Quincy man faces assault charge

Nelson Davis, 43, of 514 South St., Apt. 5, Quincy, was arraigned on a charge of assault in Quincy District Court. The case was continued to April 6 for a pretrial hearing. The charge stems from a July 29, 2011 incident in Milton at 2:49 a.m. when police responded to 45 Adanec Road for a report of a domestic disturbance.

Braintree man charged after making U-turn

Russell E. Hanson, 25, of 80 Brow Ave., Braintree, was arraigned on charges of driving after license suspension and a marked lanes violation in Quincy District Court. The charges stem from an Aug. 13,  2011 incident in Milton where police say Hanson made an illegal U-turn on Blue Hill Parkway and pulled him over.

Milton man charged after traffic stop

Sheldon C. Jarrett, 32, of 11 Tucher St., Apt. 2, Milton, was arraigned on charges of driving after license suspension, failure to stop or yield, and no inspection sticker. The case was continued to  April 10 for a pretrial hearing. The charges stem from an Aug. 1, 2011 incident in Milton where police say Jarrett drove through a red light at Adams and Eliot streets and pulled him over.
