Canton Police Officers and Businesses Raise $5,000 for Special Olympics of CT

More than doubled last year's amount

In a feel good story, 46 Canton businesses contributed $5,000 for the Special Olympics of Connecticut, the Hartford Courant reports.
The Police Department helped spearhead fundraising efforts, and Police Chief Christopher Arciero said that total is more than double compared to last year.
Arciero credited Officer David Rodriguez for organizing this year's effort, the Courant reports.
"Once again, the generosity and support from the many Canton businesses and organizations is remarkable and shows the spirit of this great town," Arciero said in his announcement about the Torch Run, according to the Courant.
