Canton School District Keeping Injured Students in Thoughts, Prayers

Superintendent of Schools Jeff Granatino said that four of the students have been released from the hospital.

After a Friday evening crash , the school district is coming together for support.

"We're all hoping (the students) will have a speedy recovery," Superintendent of Schools Jeff Granatino told Patch this evening.

Four of the six students involved in the crash have been sent home from the hospital, he said.

Although, Granatino said he did not know which hospital the students are being treated at or information on their injuries.

The crash happened at about 6:00 p.m. Friday evening on York Street, and was not school related, Granatino said.

The crisis team has been notified and is preparing to work with students, if necessary, on Monday, he said.

The district is "putting together support in place for students and staff," he said.

The community is hoping for a very positive outcome for the injured high schoolers.

The students "are in our thoughts and prayers, that's for sure," Granatino said.
