Canton Woman Charged with Assaulting CVS Employee, Shoplifting

The following information was supplied by the Wellesley Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Canton woman was charged with simple assault and battery and shoplifting last week after she pushed a CVS employee while trying to exit the store with a bag full of stolen merchandise.

Wendy Sterling, 42, of Canton was arrested Sept. 12 at the CVS in Wellesley Square after officers found her to be in possession of “a multitude of items,” according to Wellesley Police records clerk Sue Wicklund.

Police arrived to find Sterling arguing with the store’s manager. Sterling, at one point, dumped the stolen merchandise onto the floor and pushed the store manager as she tried to exit, according to Wicklund. The stolen merchandise totaled $119.
