Canton Patch's Norfolk County Court Roundup: January 29 Edition

The following information came from various courts in Norfolk County. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction unless otherwise stated.

Canton

Heroin possession case goes to hearing in February

Richard Tarantino. 41, of 71 Rustic Road, Walpole, had charges of possession of a Class A drug, possession of a Class A drug with intent to distribute, a drug violation near a school or park, and conspiracy to violate drug law continued to Feb. 6 in Stoughton District Court for a hearing at the request of legal counsel. The charges stem from a May 15, 2009 incident in Canton involving an investigation into heroin dealing on Petit Street. The Class A possession charge was continue without a finding of guilty until May 18, 2012, while the other charges were dismissed, according to court records.

Milton

Marshfield woman cleared of OUI charge

Deborah McCormick, 52, of 98 High St., Marshfield, was found not guilty of drunken driving and not responsible for driving without license in possession. The charges stem from a July 16, 2011 incident Milton when state police stopped McCormick's vehicle at a checkpoint on Route 138.

OUI case continued without a finding

Louis V. Le, 47, of 36 Yurick Road, Needham, had a charge of drunken driving continued without a finding of guilty in Quincy District Court until Jan. 15, 2013. A related marked lanes violation was placed on file.

The charges stem from a Feb. 13, 2011 incident in Milton when state police observe Le's vehicle being driven in an erratic manner. Police stopped the vehicle and after administering field sobriety tests arrested Le on suspicion of being drunk. He consented to a chemical breath test, which showed he had a blood-alcohol content of .08, .15, and .08, according to the police incident report.

Braintree

Braintree woman charged with running sex business in Quincy

Gabrealla S. Marks, 24, of 39 McCusker Drive, Apt. 4, Braintree, was arraigned in Quincy District Court on a charge of sexual conduct for a fee. The case was continued to March 22 for a pretrial hearing.

The charges stem from a July 13, 2011 incident in Quincy at 12:01 p.m. when police responded to reports of a possible prostitution business being run out of a house at 187 Marlboro St. Police stopped a male witness who admitted to having paid $80 for sex and told police that he met Marks, going by the name of Jasmine, on Craigslist. Residents reported seeing men coming and going  throughout the day at 187 Marlboro St. but staying for 20 minutes or so. Another resident reported an animal having knocked over a trash barrel at the house, strewing numerous used condoms.

Judge dismisses case of alleged shoplifter

Michael Graffeo, 23, of 73 Marjorie Road, Stoughton, had charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise and trespassing dismissed in Quincy District Court upon payment of $100 in court costs for each offense. The charges stem from a March 10, 2011 incident in Braintree. Police responded to a report of a shoplifter at Champs involving various stolen clothes.

Brockton resident charged with shoplifting

Sualy Abreu, 28, of 76 Hillberg St., Brockton, was arraigned on charges of second-offense shoplifting by concealing merchandise and malicious destruction of property under $250. The case was continued to March 15 in Quincy District Court.

The charges stem from a Aug. 19, 2011 incident in Braintree at 7 p.m. when police responded to a report of two female shoplifters at the Hollister retail store. Abreu is accused of ripping off the electronic sensors on several items of clothing and placing them inside a large pocketbook. The items totaled $104 in value.

Boston man faces OUI charge

Olavo Amado, 64, of 45 Woodward Ave., Apt. 3, Boston, had charges of drunken driving and a marked lanes violation continued to March 22 for a jury trial in Quincy District Court. The charges stem from a Jan. 15, 2011 incident in Braintree at 1:33 a.m. when police responded to a report of a vehicle operating erratically on Route 93. Police stopped the vehicle and arrested Amado on
suspicion of being drunk. He refused a chemical breath test.

Braintree man charged with assault and battery, malicious destruction

Chris Ciampa, 25, of 21 Marietta Ave., Apt. 5, Braintree, was arraigned on charges of assault and battery, malicious destruction of property over $250, and two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon. The case was continued to April 2.

The charges stem from a Sept. 1, 2011 incident in Braintree at 8:40 p.m. when police responded to Marietta avenue for a report of a street fight. Two female victims allegedly were spattered with blood and specks of glass. The fight allegedly started when Ciampa's brother confronted him about his drinking and nonpayment of rent, according to the police incident report.

Weymouth man skips arraignment, warrant issued

James S. Clary, 46, of 18 Sumner Road, East Weymouth, failed to appear at an arraignment on two counts of procuring alcohol for minors. A judge issued an arrest warrant for the default. The incident stems from a Dec. 31, 2008 incident in Braintree. Police allege Clary purchased alcohol for his teenage daughter and her underage girlfriend.

Quincy woman dodges arraignment on shoplifting charge

Jenna E. Flaherty, 27, of 78 Doane St., Quincy, failed to show up at an arraignment on a charge of larceny over $250. A judge issued an arrest warrant for the default. The charge stems from a July 22, 2011 incident in Braintree. Police allege Flaherty and an accomplice attempted to steal $268 worth of clothing at Abercrombie and Fitch by placing items in a Hollister bag.

Marshfield woman found innocent of distributing Oxycodone

Lisa M. Joy, 33, of 1801 Ocean St., Apt. A33, Marshfield, was found not guilty in Quincy District Court of distributing Class B Oxycodone. The charge stems from a Feb. 11, 2010 incident in Braintree when police observed a narcotics transaction involving two men and a woman in the South Shore Plaza parking lot. One of the men admitted to having purchased three Oxycodone pills for $30 each. Joy told police she was at the scene only to return the man's keys, which he had left at the house.
