FBI Release Details on String of Bank Robberies Across the Bay State

The bank robbery in Canton is connected to the string of robberies, according to police.

At least ten police departments, including the , were working with the Massachusetts State Police and FBI Violent Crimes Task Force in recent weeks to end the . This included the on May 25.

According to a statement from the FBI's Boston Field Office, the Canton, Reading, Lynnfield, Salem, Melrose, Braintree, Andover, Peabody, Tewksbury, and Gloucester police departments all participated in .

Earlier this week, police arrested 26-year-old , a Peabody resident and Saugus native. An alleged accomplice, 24-year old Gloucester resident Jenifer Sannizzaro, was also arrested nearby. Both were reportedly near an Eastern Bank in Andover when arrested Tuesday at about 5 p.m.

The FBI also noted that it was a tip from the public that initially led law enforcement to identify Decareau as a person of interest in seven area bank robberies running between April 25 and May 19. The suspects had already been under surveillance when arrested.

The two had been expected to make an appearance in Lawrence District Court on Wednesday.
