Local Couple Busted in Alleged Heroin Deal at Braintree Hotel

The following information was supplied by the Braintree Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Two Randolph residents were arrested in Braintree last Friday after detectives discovered them allegedly dealing drugs out of a hotel on Wood Road.

The couple –  Larry Anderson, 24, and Elise Beal, 27 – were charged with trafficking heroin and possession with intent to distribute of both marijuana and cocaine after a search of a room at the Candlewood Suites turned up almost 100 grams of heroin, 24 grams of cocaine and a "quantity of marijuana," Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.

Police also found evidence of drug packaging in the room and $5,000 cash on Anderson after the couple was pulled over leaving the hotel Friday afternoon, Jan. 3.

Prior to their vehicle stop and the subsequent room search, the two allegedly sold drugs to brothers from Canton and Taunton and a man from Quincy. The three men were not named by police because they were not charged.

"Detectives Mark Sherrick and Matthew Heslam observed two men [Friday], brothers from Canton and Taunton, in the parking lot of Candlewood Suites briefly meet up with a third man from Quincy, who was also parked in the lot," Jenkins said.

"A short time after their meeting, one of the brothers met up with Beal, who was observed exiting the hotel, and engaged in what the detectives believed to be a drug transaction.

"After the brother and Beal separated, the brothers drove off, as did the Quincy man. Additional help was requested and both vehicles were stopped on Granite Street while Detective Sherrick, who was now joined by Detective Robert Joseph, stopped the vehicle that Beal was leaving in, with Anderson at the wheel.

"Based on conversations with all five individuals and the discovery of certain evidence, including almost $5000 in cash in Anderson’s jacket pocket, both Anderson and Beal were placed under arrest and charged with conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substances Act. Anderson was additionally charged with distribution of heroin."
