No Charges Issued After Vehicle at Bay State School of Technology Investigated

Canton Police are saying there was "no criminal interest evident" with car parked at the Bay State School of Technology Tuesday morning. Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad was called in.

A suspicious vehicle found at the Bay State School of Technology was investigated by the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad this morning, but is being called "a situation of lapse of judgement and no criminal interest was evident," according the Canton Police. 

No charges are being filed. 

Canton police were able to identify and talk to the person, who had control of the leased vehicle.

There is no link to the explosion that happened at the Boston Marathon Monday, Canton police officials announced Tuesday.

Canton Police received a call about the vehicle at 7:25 a.m. from an employee at the school about a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot.

Upon arrival, the police saw the contents inside of the vehicle contained a propane tank, wire and hose. The Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad was called in, while Canton police and firefighters went door-to-door to alert residents to stay inside.

The school was closed at the time of the investigation.

State Police investigated and determined they could enter the vehicle. The scene was cleared at 10:30 a.m., allowing the roadway to reopen.
