Pair Accused in Best Buy Theft

Dedham Police arrested a Canton resident and Stoughton resident Tuesday evening.

Police stated they saw Connor Sullivan, 20, of Canton, walk into Best Buy, and come out of the store walking quickly and looking over his shoulder several times, and had a "bulge in his pocket."

Sullivan walked to his friend's car parked close to an exit near Providence Highway. Police said David Turecek, 21, of Stoughton, was operating the car.

Officer Kevin Mahoney alerted other units that a grey Nissan was pulling onto Route 1, and a short time later, police pulled over Turecek's car on Washington Street in Dedham Square.

After searching the car, police found an iPod Shuffle and a digital camera that Turecek said weren't in the car before the pair's trip to Best Buy, according to police reports.

Sullivan refused to answer questions about the items, reports stated.

Officers said the items matched descriptions on the store's website and were still in original packaging. Police are working to obtain a store videotape of the incident.

Both men were charged with larceny and conspiracy.
