Pair Charged with Multiple Burglaries at Dunkin' Donuts

The following information came from Quincy District Court. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction unless otherwise stated.

Two men face multiple charges of breaking into Dunkin Donuts in Canton in September.

Peter Wallace, 38, of 5 Spaulding St., Dorchester is being held on $5,000 bail in the Norfolk County House of Correction in Dedham following his arraignment in Quincy District Court on charges of malicious destruction of property, possession of a burglary tool, and felony breaking and entering into a building at night.

The case was continued to April 2.

The charges stem from a Sept. 13, 2011 incident in Canton where Wallace and an accomplice allegedly, and repeatedly, burglarized the shop at 600 Neponset St., setting off the alarm, police said in the incident report.

The incident culminated in a high-speed chase that ended in Quincy, with charges being filed in that city. Police recovered numerous burglary tools from the suspects' car including a crowbar, sledgehammers, screwdriver, and $300 in rolled coins allegedly stolen from Dunkin' Donuts.

Wallace was also arraigned on separate charges of felony breaking and entering into a building at night, possession of a burglary tool, and larceny over $250 stemming from a  Sept. 8 incident; breaking and entering into a building at night, larceny over $250, possession of a burglary tool, and malicious destruction of property over $250 stemming from a Aug. 5, 2011 incident; malicious destruction of property, possession of a burglary tool, and attempting to commit a crime stemming from a Aug. 29, 2011 incident; and felony breaking and entering into a building at night, larceny over $250, malicious destruction of property over $250, and possession of a burglary tool stemming from a June 27, 2011 incident.

His alleged accomplice, Wayne Wallace, 33, of 71 Station St., Apt. 2, Quincy is also being held on $5,000 bail in the county jail after being arraigned in Quincy District Court on charges stemming from incidents at the Dunkin' Donut shop in Canton.

His next court date is April 2. Wallace faces multiple counts which include possession of a burglary tool, breaking and entering into a building at night, larceny over $250, attempting to commit a crime, and malicious destruction of property over $250 stemming from Aug. 5, 2011, Sept. 8, 2011, Aug. 29, 2011, and Sept. 12, 2011 incidents.  Police allege both men wore masks during the burglaries.
