According to a report by Dave Procopio of the Massachusetts State Police media relations unit, the accident occured at 5:20 p.m. The trooper was north of exit 11 in Canton assisting a motorist with a flat tire when a woman driving a 2003 Buick struck his cruiser from behind. “She reported no injuries at this time,” Procopio said. “The trooper was taken to Norwood Hospital as a precaution.”

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
