Suspect in Armed Robbery of Canton Dunkin Donuts Believed to be Tied to Other Dunkin Thefts in Area

The man seen on surveillance video robbing the Neponset Street Dunkin Donuts in Canton last Wednesday night may also be tied to other Dunkin Donuts robberies in Canton, Avon, and in "several other surrounding communities," according to a post on the Canton Police Department's Facebook page.

Last Wednesday, July 24, at about 8:30 p.m. a male suspect entered the Dunkin Donuts at 600 Neponset St. in Canton.

The suspect "Wearing a black or blue jacket or sweatshirt with a large horizontal green stripe, dark colored jeans and a ski mask...went behind the counter, produced a firearm and proceeded to rob the employees at gunpoint," according to Canton Police.

There were no patrons in the store at the time.

Following the robbery, the suspect proceeded to exit out the front door and get into a waiting vehicle, Canton Police believe.

This same Neponset Street Dunkin Donuts was also robbed in similar fashion back on June 30, Canton Police note.

Upon hearing radio reports of the most recent robbery in Canton on July 24, Avon Police contacted the CPD stating that a male matching the description of the Canton suspect attempted to rob a Dunkin Donuts in Avon around 6:30 that same night, but "peeled off when he noticed patrons in the store."

"Avon PD provided us with surveillance video of the attempted robbery and detectives determined that it is likely the same person that robbed the Dunkin Donuts located in Canton later that evening," Canton Police report.

The surveillance video can be viewed by clicking here.
