Two Canton Residents Taken to Hospital After Early Morning Car Crash on Sunday on Rte. 24

A Canton man and woman were taken to area hospitals early Sunday morning after a three-car accident on Rte. 24 northbound in Brockton.

A three-car accident at 2am Sunday morning on Rte. 24 northbound in Brockton sent four to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and closed several lanes of Rte. 24 northbound for nearly 2.5 hours, according to a press release from the Mass. State Police. Among those injured were Lauren Machado, 28, and Michael H. Tenney, 29, of Canton.

Machado was operating a 2002 Honda Civic and was taken by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital. Tenny was taken by medical helicopter to Massachusetts General Hosptial. A third passenger in the Honda Civic, Kaitlyn A. Conner, 23, of Chesire, Mass., was also taken to Good Samaritan Hospital.

According to state police reports, the first trooper who responded to the scene found three of the injured persons lying in the road. It was not clear to the trooper why the individuals were not in their car.

The fourth person injured in the crash was Lisa  Brasil, 33, of Taunton. Brasil was operating a 2000 Acura sedan and was taken by ambulance to Brockton City Hospital.

A 2005 Toyota RAV 4 was the third car involved in the crash.

The accident is under investigation by Trooper Walter Beard from the State Police Barracks in Middleborough.
