Update: Stoughton Woman Charged in Prostitution Ring at Canton, Norwood and Brockton Spas

A Stoughton woman will be arraigned in Brockton District Court on Monday, charged with “deriving support from prostitution” at her salons in Brockton, Canton and Norwood, according to Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley’s Office.

Terry Mussari, 45, of Stoughton, owns Aria Day Spa in Brockton, Sparkle Day Spa in Canton (at the Cobb’s Corner Village Shoppes) and Spa Bellissimo in Norwood.

FOX 25-TV, which broke the story, said these salons “are advertised as upscale establishments that offer the finest products and services to clients.”

But after an investigation found that masseuses at all three spas allegedly traded “sexual favors for cash” and employees allegedly sold drugs to customers and to other employees, all three spas have been shutdown, FOX25 reports.

“Investigators developed evidence indicating that all three spas were allegedly offering sexual activity between masseuses employed by Mussari and their clients in exchange for cash that was characterized as ‘tips.’ In addition, authorities also allege that employees of the spa were selling narcotics to customers as well as each other,” according to a statement from the Attorney General’s Office.

Massachusetts State Police and the FBI, in conjunction with the Attorney General’s Office, raided the three spas Saturday evening (October 22) as part of the investigation.

“State Police officers assigned to the AG’s Office, the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office, the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office, the State Police CAT team, the State Police Division of Field Services, the Boston office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Canton Police and the Norwood Police executed three search warrants at the three spa locations,” according to the Attorney General’s Office.

After the warrants were executed, two women were arrested. Mussari was arrested and was taken to the State Police Barracks in Middleboro. The Attonrey General’s Office also said that Tiffany Burgess, 31, of Raynham was arrested on multiple outstanding arrest warrants and was taken to the Middleboro Barracks as well. Burgess was one of Mussari’s employees, FOX25 reports.

Mussari also owned and operated the Spine Stop in Easton, which made headlines in 2003 when a masseuse at the now closed chiropractic clinic and massage parlor was charged with prostitution following an undercover sting, FOX25 reports.

The Spine Stop was located on Rt. 123 across from Stonehill College in Easton, less than half a mile from where the Aria Day Spa is presently located in Brockton, just over the Brockton-Easton line on the same road.

Mussari “voluntarily surrendered” her chiropractic license in June of 2006, according to the Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure website. According to the licensure website, she currently holds a massage therapy license.

The three spas now in question are located at 1280 Belmont St. in Brockton (Aria Day Spa), 95 Washington St. in Canton (Sparkle Day Spa) and 1210 Boston-Providence Turnpike in Norwood (Spa Bellissimo).

The Attorney General’s Office said the “investigation remains active and ongoing.”
