12 Years Later: Canton Still Remembers Michael Uliano on 9/11

Canton native Michael Uliano was killed on 9/11. Today the town still remembers the former CHS football star.

He was voted "most spirited" by the Canton High Class of 1978, was a star high school quarterback and had his Number 10 football jersey retired by the school.

Michael Uliano left his mark on Canton before becoming a broker in New York City.

He was working for Cantor Fitzgerald in the North Tower of the World Trade Center 12 years ago on the morning of September 11, 2001, when a Boeing 767-223ER, which had been hijacked out of Logan Airport in Boston, crashed into the building’s north facade between the 93rd and 99th floors.

Uliano along with over 1,400 other people in the tower were killed.

After the attacks, the Town of Canton created a memorial at the Canton Center Cemetery in honor of Uliano.

The special plaque is located next to the Iraq War Memorial, which is dedicated to Shayne M. Cabino of Canton and Franklin, who was 19 when he died in the Iraq War in 2005.
