Boil Water Order Lifted Monday Evening in Canton

The boil water order has officially been lifted for the Town of Canton.

A notice from the Town of Canton:

As of 4:00 p.m. today, Monday, October 3, 2011, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has lifted the boil water order. 

The town, late this afternoon, received written authorization to lift any water use restriction. This state approval was granted as a result of numerous water quality samples taken in Canton that met or exceeded stringent public drinking water standards.

All residential and commercial water customers can use the town’s water without restriction.

The town wishes to extend its sincere thanks and appreciation for the public’s patience and understanding.

All town response efforts including early public notification have been guided by ensuring the public’s health and safety.

All restaurant and other food service businesses must contact the Canton Health Department at 781-821-5021 on Tuesday Oct 4 at 8:00 am and receive a response with the Board of Health’s approval before returning to normal tap water use.
