Sen. Brian A. Joyce is a longtime advocate for banning shock therapy as a means to control behavior in children.

When it comes to stopping the use of electric shock therapy on children to control their behavior, is no shrinking violet. An outspoken critic of shock therapy and other forms of aversion therapy, Joyce has called the "a House of Horrors" and has introduced legislation to "ban the brutal practices that take place at the JRC in Canton, Massachusetts."
