Real Estate Report: Canton Home Sales Up in March

New data from the Warren Group shows some good news for home sales in Canton, which increased by 50 percent last month.

Canton saw its home sales jump in March, according to data released by real estate information firm The Warren Group.

A total of 18 homes were sold in Canton in March 2013, as compared to 12 in March 2012, according to the report. Year-to-date sales also increased to 35 in 2013, compared to year-to-date sales of 27 this time in 2012.

While sales were up, the median home price went down from $407,560 in March 2012 to $365,000 in March 2013. The year-to-date median price droped as well, from $400,000 in 2012 to $380,000 in 2013.

In Massachusetts, 3,214 homes sold in March 2013, slightly down over last year's 3,100 sales.

The median sale price in the state however, was went up 8.37 percent from $263,000 in March 2012 to $282,500 in March 2013.
