Daisy Troop #68065 Gets the Scoop on St. John's School Principal

Kindergarten Daisy Troop interviews St. John's School Principal, Sean Richardson, and asks their questions both serious and light.

On Friday, May 3, Kindergarten Daisy Troop # 68065 worked on their badge to “respect authority” by interviewing the ultimate authority figure at St. John the Evangelist school: Principal Sean Richardson.

Mr. Richardson welcomed the Daisies into his office to ask him lots of questions. The girls wrote their questions themselves and wore official Daisy Press Passes into their meeting.

The Daisies learned that Principal Richardson likes to ride his bike and watch baseball. His favorite TV show is The Big Bang Theory. He likes fried chicken with mashed potatoes and ice cream sodas. Mr. Richardson owns between 2-300 ties. The Daisies calculated that if we have 180 school days in the year, he has enough ties to wear a different one every day and even change it if it gets dirty!

On a more serious note, the Daisies learned that Principal Richardson tries to visit every class every day to check on everyone. He has received over 2,000 emails in this first year at St. John’s. He is not nervous to speak on the intercom and he showed the Daisies all the special buttons used to make it work!

One of the most important topics the Daisies discussed with Mr. Richardson is what it is like to speak to people in trouble. Speaking to and punishing a student in trouble is the most difficult and his least favorite part of the job. But usually Mr. Richardson gets to find out what the trouble is and help the student to do better in the future.

“What is it like to run the whole, entire school?” asked Alivia Hennessey of Canton. “Awesome!” was the answer, “The teachers do almost everything!”
