After tying 1-1 last month, the teams play to 0-0 on Tuesday.

Compared to Tuesday's Canton-match, the teams' first meeting of 2011 was a slugfest.

"I thought that Sharon played phenomenally well in the first half. I thought we were on our backs for the first half," he said.

"I thought we came out and carried the play in the second half. But, if you can't find the back of the net ..."

Every shot Sharon goalkeeper Mitchell Goldenberg and Canton's Colby Gavigan faced, they stopped. Or it hit the crossbar or a goalpost. Or went wide, frustrating the two offenses.

"It was probably Mitch's best game," Kaye said of his senior captain.

"When he comes off the line, he's a really good goaltender. Sometimes, he gets stuck there. He's afraid to come out. But when he comes out, he's active, and people get out of his way."

Sharon (3-2-4) plays again twice this week:

Canton (6-0-4) hosts Foxborough at 7 p.m. Friday.
