Canton Superintendent Addresses Newtown School Shooting

Superintendent Jeffrey W. Granatino points parents to a platform meant to guide them through addressing the tragedy with their families.

Canton Schools Superintendent Jeffrey W. Granatino released a letter to parents Friday in regards to the school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the staff, students, and families of the Newtown community as they deal with today’s unspeakable tragedy," Granatino wrote in the letter, in which he discusses a website that is meant to provide guidance and advice on how to talk to children about tragedies involving other children.

"If you have particular concerns about your child, please call their guidance counselor on Monday morning so we can touch base with and support him/her," Granatino wrote. "As always, our counselors are available to students during the week."
