A toddler when she first began swimming, the Canton High School freshman wanted to try a new sport. Her cousin likes volleyball; when she tried out, Kimberley met good people and earned a spot on the team.

The new sport [] challenges her intellectually and physically. “You never know where the ball is going. You must be quick on your feet."

She said moving her body to direct the ball in a certain way is a completely different than the physical activity of swimming.

While swimming focuses on self-improvement skills, volleyball focuses on communication with team members and balancing the ability to work with others while doing your share she said.

“Volleyball teaches me I do not always have to rely on myself," she said. "My teammates are there to help. I can count on them and they can count on me.”

Kimberley’s favorite subjects are Science and English. She enjoys the experiments in her biology class, saying the hands-on subject teaches her about life and how it works.

English class is the place where Kimberley is able to write down her thoughts. Writing her own fiction stories for several years now, she loves short stories and poetry. Kimberley also loves reading; a joy great writers through time share.

Challenging oneself physically and creatively is a trait great athletes and artists through time share. This Whiz Kid can certainly count herself among the greats.
