Accomplishments: DancerAt the tender age of three, Shannon Belle Milewski’s first teacher, Lorraine Best, ignited something powerful in her.

Now a student at Stoughton’s Starline Academy for the Performing Arts, she continues to be inspired by teachers Rayna and Anna, and inspire as an assistant dance teacher for young students.

“The kids are adorable, and I can see in some that they will do something with dance when they are older,” she said.

Choreographing her dances for Starline competitions comes from inside, the 15-year-old said of her recognitions that include Gold Star and Special Style awards.

SingerA third year student of classical voice, Shannon sang God Bless America at a Revolutionary War reenactment and our National Anthem at her 8th grade graduation from the Galvin Middle School, where Mr. Russell served as a powerful source of guidance.

A member of Southeastern MA Music Educators’ Association’s Treble Choir – Junior District Chorus, she unexpectedly found herself singing lead at the Marshfield Fair’s Battle of the Bands when the rock band’s lead singer was scheduled to be in Florida.

Shannon’s music teacher at Starline recommended her to fill in. The unfamiliar opportunity allowed her to stretch vocally and as a performer.

ActressPerforming in the Orpheum Theatre production of Annie at age eight, Shannon has built an impressive actor’s resume with the Canton Community Theatre  that includes roles in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Oliver and the lead in Hello Dolly.

Playing three different roles in three different productions of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, she is enthusiastic about auditions for performances at Canton High School, where the incoming freshman is enrolled in four honors classes.

“School is the most important thing,” she said, citing English as a favorite because she likes to write stories.

This dancer-singer-actress said her role as the youngest of six in a blended family is most important. Being a bridesmaid in her sister’s wedding was a summer highlight, and attending CHS with brother Alex, a senior, ranks high.
