Professor Steven Kepnes, PhD visits Temple Beth David

Please join the Temple Beth David Adult Education Committee for Shabbat Morning Servces on June 2nd at 10:30AM. Following the service, we will have a kiddush luncheon and a guest speaker, Professor Steven Kepnes, PhD, who will discuss "Creation: Jewish, Christian, and Islamic Views."

The will be a short demonstration and discussion of theologies of creation using a new method of Interfaith Dialogue called "Scriptural Reasoning." Scriptural Reasoning explores a theological theme through group study of Jewish, Christian, and Islamic scriptures. Steven Kepnes, Ph.D., Professor of Jewish Studies and Religion at Colgate University, has been practicing and teaching Scriptural Reasoning for almost 2 decades in the United States, Great Britain, and the Middle East.

Professor Kepnes has spoken at Temple Beth David in the past, and this program should be fascinating and enlightening.  There is no charge for the kiddush luncheon.

Temple Beth David is a reform congregation with members from Canton, Milton, Randolph, Stoughton, Sharon and surrounding south shore Boston communities whose mission is to provide opportunities for spiritual expression and growth. Members have traditional and non-traditional backgrounds and a great respect for traditional observance. Jews-by-choice, non-Jewish spouses, and gays and lesbians will find a welcoming environment at Temple Beth David. Many services are ASL-interpreted for the hearing impaired.
