“Dirt” At CHS a Rousing Success

“"Dirt’ was a grand slam!” That was the message from , K-12 Wellness Director for the Canton Public Schools. He was referring to a unique program brought to students and their parents on April 7. “Dirt,” a one-man show by , intertwined several stories of drug abuse and other at-risk behaviors into a cohesive drama, which had a profound effect on the audience.

“He really met them at their level,” Boucher said. “He didn't preach, but he weaved the story together so well during the last five minutes that it was magical. The kids raved about him all day long and the next day. Kids I barely knew were thanking me for helping get "Dirt" to come to Canton.”

Problem Solvers Fundraiser for International Competition

The are fundraising their way to LaCrosse, Wisconsin, for the international competition in June. They held an event on Saturday at the Ponkapoag Civic, which featured two bands, Grace Morrison and The RSO, along with the Wolff Sisters. Attendees enjoyed the music, food, raffles and a cash bar with all proceeds going to the problem solvers. 

JFK Evening for Education Cover Contest Winner

JFK second grader Jackie Morrissey has been named the cover contest winner for this year’s Evening for Education program book. The event, which will be held on May 13 at the B, will feature silent and live auctions and raffles, as well as student art projects and classroom-themed baskets.

Bookmark Contest

Canton fourth and fifth graders are invited to create a bookmark that teaches how to be safe in their community. Judges will be members of the Canton Public Schools and the , and award winners will be notified on May 21, the day of the Summer Fun and Safety Fair held at Pequitside Farm from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. For more information, topics and contest rules, click here
