Luce 5K and Fun Run Results

More than 200 runners were on hand for Saturday’s Tenth Annual 5K and Fun Run. Canton’s Ryan O’Mara came in first overall for the 5K at 18:40, and Jessica Carlone of Franklin placed first among women with 23:15. All enjoyed the CAPT complimentary cookout following the race.

fourth and fifth graders held a fundraising concert and bake sale for Heifer International on April 13, raising $520. The fifth grade JFK XYLOS, under the energetic direction of music teacher Rebecca Smart, entertained an overflow all-ages audience. Elisa Blanchard’s fourth grade students presented the Heifer Story and explained the idea of sustainable development (“Not a cup, but a cow.”) JFK families also donated homemade goodies for the bake sale. All donors received a sticker that read, “I made a difference as a JFK Heifer Helper!”

The CAPT will hold a “Black and White Party ~ Ladies’ Night” on Tuesday, June 14 from 7:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. at the Ponkapoag Civic. Featuring appetizers, a cash bar and live music poolside by Dann Russo, the event will welcome summer while raising money for programs at Hansen. CHS Blood Drive Tuesday

The Student Council and the American Red Cross will sponsor the annual blood drive on Tuesday May 3 in "B" Gym. Students who are 17-years-old may sign up to donate blood in the Career Center this week. Donors must weigh at least 110 lbs. and have their student IDs or licenses with them on the day of the blood drive. CAPE announces “Honor Thy Teacher”

The Canton Alliance for Public Education () is sponsoring the “Honor thy Teacher” fundraising program. CAPE is a non-profit community-based foundation dedicated to enhancing Canton’s commitment to excellence in public education. The organization raises money to fund programs such as Rage Against The Hate (RATH)/ Ryan’s Story for all grades; Empty Bowl Project to end hunger at ; improving computer use at all of Canton’s elementary schools, and the reintroduction of a SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) chapter at Canton High School.
