Massasoit “Zero Waste Day” Today
Students and staff at are holding a “zero waste day” on campus today. This recycling event is intended to bring awareness about recycling and reducing waste, to encourage people to recycle more and waste less, and to educate them about what can and can’t be recycled. People can bring in any of the items listed here to recycle for free, and if they do they’ll receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a prize. There will be give-aways, recycling and composting contests, a composting demonstration, information about Massasoit’s single-stream recycling program and sustainable landscaping, and a “dumpster dive” to see what’s in Massasoit’s trash–specifically, to show all the materials that could be recycled but are thrown in the trash instead.
