Xylos play out, Luce reaches out, and CHS Boosters rock out.

JFK Xylos at Mass Hospital School

The fifth grade Xylos, under the direction of music teacher Rebecca Smart, performed for students at the on Friday, April 15. The 17 young musicians, who rehearse weekly after school and during recess, performed eight pieces for the Hospital School students, who listened enthusiastically. “They were amazing,” said Kathleen Kalell, Massachusetts Hospital School Foundation Director.

The Norfolk County Teachers Association has recognized Special Educator Denise Provost and Librarian Barbara Adams with its Honor and Service awards, respectively. They will be honored at the Annual NCTA Awards Banquet at Lombardo’s in Randolph on June 7. 

Galvin Offers Supply Kits to New Students

The is offering the Schoolkidz kit, which contains required items for all incoming sixth graders. Order forms will be sent home with current fifth-grade students on May 12 and must be returned by June 3. Kits will be available for pick up at the Grade Six Scavenger Hunt in late August or early September. Luce Supports Canton Food Pantry

has contributed $979 to the this year with donations from its “Nickels for Nutrition” program. Another contribution is planned before the end of the school year. 

Granatino Requests Help with Postal Food Drive

Canton Public Schools Superintendent Jeff Granatino is requesting that Canton residents participate in the on Saturday, May 14. The drive will benefit the , helping to maintain the variety and quantity of food available. Granatino asks residents to leave their non-perishable food donations at their mailboxes for pick-up by the postal carriers. The Post Office will deliver donations to the Pantry, rain or shine. 

CHS Boosters to Hold Benefit Dance

The Booster Club is sponsoring a 70s and 80s benefit dance on Friday, May 13 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the dance, which will be held at the Irish Cultural Center, are $25 each. Call Kathy Leavitt at 617-997-3552 or Billy Ward at 617-593-3406 for more information. 

Historic Site Tour

Visit historic sites in Canton on a self-guided tour Sunday, May 15, from 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Hosted by the State-Champion Fifth Grade , which is competing in the Future Problem Solvers International Competition in LaCrosse, Wisconsin next month. Click here for more information.
