Last Chance: Prom Dress Shopping Day for Mass. Hospital School

We've seen hundreds of events come and go in the community, but how often does one pass you by that you wish you hadn't missed out on? That's where we come in. Each week Canton Patch will post a quick reminder about the events, activities or important tasks whose deadlines have come.

The Massachusetts Hospital School is hosting a “Prom Dress Shopping Day” today for its students, ages 16-22.
 

Students will be able to try on donated dresses from the community, make their selection, and be fitted for alterations.

Several local volunteers will be on hand as well to assist with this special day, which is considered a rite of passage for many of these students.

Often teens in wheelchairs face difficulty participating in the “prom process.”

and the surrounding community holds this event yearly to make sure these students have a night to remember.
